2.2 MAHA SIVARATHIRI – SUNDAY 14TH FEB 1999
Maha Sivarathiri on Sunday 14th Feb ’99 is being hosted by Sri S Pattabiraman(OP-15) at his residence Blk 148, #12-94 Hougang Street 11, Tel: 289-7645. Pooja will commence at 6.30 pm with Rudrabhishegam, followed by Rudra Trisathi. Deeparadhanai will be held at 8.00 pm and Prasadam will be distributed thereafter. We invite all members and their families to attend the pooja and obtain the blessingsof Lord Shiva. MAHA SIVARATHIRI FESTIVAL AT SRI SIVAN TEMPLE (GEYLANG EAST AVE 2 ) FROM 11TH FEB TO 15TH FEB 99 The Management Committee of Sri Sivan Temple, Geylang East have requested forSabha’s assistance in conducting Ruthra Japam and Homam on Friday 12th Feb 99from 7.30 am to 12 noon. They need a minimum of 11 persons to recite the japam. 2.4 SHUTTLE BADMINTON TOURNAMENT
We are glad that there has been positive response from our members. However to facilitate and encourage more member’s to participate, we are extending enrolment date up to 28 February 1999. 4. REMINDER: SUBSCRIPTION FOR THE YEAR 1999
The ordinary membership fees for 1999 will fall due on 1st Jan 1999 and there are no changes in the rates. The applicable rates are as follows: For members residing in Singapore & Malaysia :S$50.00 For members residing in other countries :S$70.00Please note that the subscription is on a calendar basis and all ordinary members are required to pay the subscription for 1999 by 1st Jan 1999. Please note that the address booklet for 1999 will only include the names of members who are current in their subscription for 1999. Hence please send in your subscriptions cheques as soon as possible to ensure that your name is included in the booklet.
5. ANNOUNCEMENT
5.1 SASTHA PREETHI
We thank the members for their participation in large numbers and for their favourable comments. We do hope with your continued support, we will be able to conduct in grandeur scale in the coming years. In the meanwhile, we appeal to the members for your kind and generous contributions towards meeting the shortfall of about $2,000 for this year.
5.2 SLOKA CLASSES
Sloka classes are scheduled to be held on a monthly basis from Mar ’99 onwards. The classes will be held on the Second Sunday of every month at 3.00 pm at the residence of Sri G Srinivasan (LS-04) 16 Jalan Tamban, off St Patricks Road Tel: 346-1850. Additional classes are planned to be held during the school holidays. The Sabha requests all interested children as well as adults to join the classes and avail of the good opportunity. 6. APPEAL6.1 MEMBERS' PARTICIPATION REQUIRED
Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple, Serangoon Road has requested for Sabha’s assistance on Sunday 21st Feb ’99 to recite Durga and Sri Suktham, in connection with their Anniversary celebrations. 6.2 LAKSHARCHANAISri Vadapathira Kaliamman Temple is conducting a Laksharachanai from 26th to 28th Feb ’99. On 26th & 27th Feb Archanai will be from 9am and 11 am and in the evening from 7pm to 9pm. On 28th Feb it will be from 9am to 11 am. Members are encouraged to participate in large numbers.
6.3 DONATIONS FOR KANCHI KAMAKOTI MUTT
Sri Kanchi Kama Koti Mutt, Kanchipuram has appealed for generous donations, for the construction of a dining hall at an estimated cost of 60 Lakhs. Donations can be made direct to the Mutt or to Hon.Secretary Sri P.S. Somasekharan (Tel.344-1694). Hon Secretary has got a number of current year calendars depicting the picture of Sri Kanchi Acharials. Interested members may kindly contact him. Sri Kanchi Acharial has also requested Non Resident Indians to join as members of the NRI Centre maintained by the Mutt. Interested members may join the Mutt through their website www.kamakoti.org
6.4 DONATIONS FOR SOUNDARARAJA PERUMAL KAINKARYA SABHA
There has been an appeal by Sri Soundararaja Perumal Kainkarya Sabha, Nagapattinam for generous donations to repair and reconstruct their Chariot which is estimated to cost Rs.5 Lakhs. Contributions may be made directly to Sri Soundararaja Perumal Kainkarya Sabha, C/o Sri S Varadachari, Perumal Sanadhi, Nagapattinam 611-001, Tamil Nadu, India.
