The changes in the addresses and corrections to the membership list as of date are as follows:

During the June school holidays, a short session to teach children about Kolam and Rangoli will be conducted by Smt. Lakshmi Parthasarathy. The classes will be held at the residence of Sri G Srinivasan (LS-04) 16 Jalan Tamban, off St Patrick’s Road Tel: 346-1850 during the third week of June i.e. 14^th to 19^th June.

It is planned to hold two sessions with each session having two afternoon classes. Participants are expected to bring their own materials. For registration and timings and other details please Mrs.G Srinivasan (Tel: 346-1850) by 10^th June 99’. As the number of participants per session is limited and to enable grouping of children according to age, early registration is requested.

The Tamil Nadu Brahmin Association (TAMBRAS FOUNDATION) a public charitable trust has appealed for generous donations, to realise their aim to establish a Corpus fund of Rs 10 Crores and to spend the income earned from the corpus fund investments for charitable objects like providing scholarships to needy students, to establish and run educational institutions for the needy, undertake community development projects in urban and rural areas, provide medical aid, provide hostel accomodation to poor students and working women, run homes for the aged poor and sick. Generally to do all kind of possible humanitarian services to mankind. They have requested for kind and liberal donations to the Trust. Cheques or drafts may be drawn in favour of ‘TAMBRAS FOUNDATION’ payable at Salem and sent to 36-B Venkatesapuram, Komarasamypatty, Salem 636007, India.

6.2  SRI SATHA CHANDI HOMAM

With the blessings of Their Holiness Sri Jayendra Saraswati Swamigal and Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswati Swamigal of Kanchi Lamakoti Peetam and Sri Bharathi Theertha Swamigal of Sringeri Sarada Peetam,  Athi Rudra Japa Homam and Sri Satha Chandi Homam is being planned to be conducted at Sri Rathnagiriswarar Temple, Besant Nagar, Chennai from 22^nd July to 1^st Aug 1999.

Eminent Vedic Scholars from different parts of India will be participating in the Athi Rudra Maha Yajnam. Elaborate arrangements are being made to conduct the Athi Rudram in a unique manner for the benefit of humanity as a whole – for all round prosperity and peace. It augurs well because the Athi Rudram is planned at the time when the country is passing though a difficult period. We need a lot of blessing to revitalise trade and economy, good friendship with neighbouring countries, amity and oneness of all the people and health and prosperity of all living beings.

Conducting the Athi Rudra with religious sanctity and serenity involved huge expenditure – to the tune of over 14 lakhs. This is the first of its kind in Sri Rathnagirishwarar Temple since its inception. In addition to Athi Rudra Maha Yajnam, a simultaneous "SATHA CHANDI HOMAM" is also being planned with the help of eleven Sri Vedya Upasakas to make the Athi Rudra Homam more purposeful and powerful.

The Temple committee has appealed for generous participation and liberal contribution of cash to the grand success of the Homam and also to reap the fruits of this sacred and great venture.
